Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Bollywood comeback has been long overdue. Her last Hindi film was opposite Farhan Akhtar in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, released in 2019. In the past few months, several reports claimed that the Desi Girl would mark her return with SS Rajamouli’s next magnum opus, tentatively titled SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu.
However, a new report suggests that Priyanka might return with one of her famous franchises, which is the Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3. She has been an integral part of the hit franchise; therefore, the chances of Priyanka returning to Bollywood with this film are high. Meanwhile, a source close to Farhan Akhtar told Zoom that “there is a “serious possibility” that PeeCee will be back in the Don franchise. It is a very tempting possibility.”
The source further added, “And they are exploring it. You see, as long as Shah Rukh Khan helmed the franchise, there was no possibility of her (Priyanka) being part of Part 3 (of Don). Once SRK opted out, the chances of her return grew exponentially.”
Priyanka Chopra essayed the role of Roma, aka Jungli Billi, in the 2006 film Don, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She reprised her role in Don 2, released in 2011. Her chemistry with SRK is widely loved by fans. There is no official confirmation from the Don 3 team or Priyanka yet. As of now, Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani are the main leads in the film’s third installment.
Meanwhile, speculations around Priyanka Chopra’s tinseltown comeback have been making headlines for a long time. It was reported earlier that PeeCee would unite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Another project, Jee Le Zara by Farhan Akhtar, too didn’t take off. It remains to be seen what Priyanka has in mind for her long-awaited Bollywood comeback.
